A downloadable tool for Windows and Linux

HECC-IT! is the hypertext game authoring tool for indecisive people.

Unlike every single other hypertext game authoring tool that exists, HECC-IT! (Hypertext Editing and Creation Code Integrated Toolkit) is the only one which freely allows you, as an author, to choose between writing raw scripting code or using a GUI in order to produce your games, not requiring you to faff around with converting between two formats whilst editing it with these methods.

Then, once you are done editing your .hecc file (either manually, or via the OH-HECC! (Optional Help for HECC) editing GUI), you can export it as a playable hypertext game (using HECC-UP! (HECC Ultra Parser), which anyone with a web browser can then play.

HECC-IT! is distributed as an executable .jar file, so you will need Java 8 installed on your computer in order to run it. It also comes with the 'HECC-SPECC' (containing instructions on how to use it and write .hecc code), as well as a couple of example .hecc files (and the games produced with them).
